Super Saturday - Languages - Attrapez les Tous!

On Saturday 15th October, C.S.I.A played host to a group of Year 5 + 6 budding linguists.  Students were first given a real taste of the plethora of language games on offer when learning a language at C.S.I.A, the favourites being Lotto (think Bingo!) and Noughts and Crosses.  Each student demonstrated excellent determination and enthusiasm, which is the key ingredient to successfully learning a language.

The students also successfully mastered the answer to the question “tu as un animal?”, with all students participating in singing and speaking games to say confidently whether they had any pets at home. Once students were confident with the topic of animals, the Year 5+6 students were then given the Pokemon catchphrase in French “Attrapez les tous” (Gotta catch em all), along with a map of the school which showed where all the different animals were hidden inside.

Many tired legs later, the students had successfully hunted up and down the school to find the animals and as much information as they could find about each one. They showed great teamwork and each group managed to find all the information needed to move on to the final stage; the Linguascope competition in the ICT suite! Each student was given the task of completing a match-up activity on the topic of animals.  The ICT suite was alive with excitement, each student vying for first place by getting the quickest time to match up all the animals.
